Long Island Man Causing Disturbance Becomes 'Violent, Combative,' With 1 Cop Hospitalized

A man who was causing a disturbance in a quiet Long Island neighborhood became violent and combative after officers arrived on the scene, injuring one cop.

The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov, 2, in Farmingdale.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance near the intersection of Conklin Street and Main Street. 

Upon arrival, they found 36-year-old Bryan Flores, a resident of the area, screaming and cursing in the roadway, which caused others to feel unsafe, according to Nassau County Police.

Flores became violent and combative while resisting arrest and one officer sustained an injury, police said. 

The officer was transported to a local area hospital. 

Flores was also transported to a local area hospital for a medical evaluation.

Flores was charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct, 
  • Obstructing governmental administration, 
  • Pedestrian failing to use a sidewalk, 
  • Resisting arrest, 
  • Two counts of assault,
  • Harassment. 

He was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
